Wananchi Group is an internet service provider, it offers internet, TV & Video to clients, the main platform is HFC & Wimax.
My position is a NOC Controller, working in the NOC department, duty is mainly to monitor the network to ensure we have good uptime on our network elements. We also support the Support team on client issus escalated to NOC, we assist the engineering team in managing & configuring  the servers, routers, switches etc. Provisioning of internet & data links on the network.

We have servers running on FreeBSD & Redhat server mainly, others run on Windows server 2008. We have mail servers, DNS/DHCP servers, our mail servers run zimbra. For monitoring we have solar winds (on Windows server 2008), JFFNMS & cacti on linux.

We have two 7600s, two Juniper MX routers for aggregation at the core. We have three international gateways 1. Teams via JTL 2. Teams via TKL & 3. Seacom

We have POPS in Nyeri, nakuru  & Mombasa that in which we use Cisco routers that eventually aggregate in Nairobi.
